Homeworld of the Dead

I'm thinking of scrapping this project. I posted in Adventure Corner on the Sporum that I am having trouble getting the apparent explosion at the end (a Mushroom Cloud, a land mine under an enemy creature, and a shit ton of explosive barrels) to be even remotely dangerous to the player.
