Julia's scream set Alp's teeth on edge. She jerked away, and the jeep swerved dangerously. The hunter swore and leveled his gun across Julia's chest. "Keep it straight, galdarnit!! Don't you $*!%in' lose control!!"

Easier said than done. Alp didn't think he could get a good shot off with the jeep knocking his gun about, but if that raptor broke through the window they'd both be dead. He held his breath and fired. Julia shouted and twisted the wheel as the crack left her ears ringing, and the jeep turned off the road and plowed down into a muddy ditch.

Oh no. It had seen her.

Dot watched the velociraptor hop deftly from the wreckage of the bus and waddle over to her. It was useless to run, now; maybe she could dodge as it leapt, and get it in the eye...

Before she knew it the creature was right in front of her, sniffing at her face like a dog or something. Dot blinked. Was it possible? She thought she recognized this one from the pens. Yeah, yeah, that's the one! One of the tamer raptors. Echo, she thought.

"H-hey, there, buddy," Dot stammered, lifting a very reluctant hand in the air above the velociraptor's snout. "I g-guess you remember me, huh? It's... Echo, right?"
